This is the sponsor page for Jim Williams, our conductor (and organist), and John Cottle, our organist, who have added to our money raised by doing a sponsored Organ play over three days, starting in June 2019, starting in Bristol Cathedral, playing their way through Bristol, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. They finished by playing the organ in St Ives parish church in Cornwall. |
Who are we?
The St George Singers are a community choir based in Kingswood, Bristol. We practice singing every Tuesday at Holy Trinity Church in Kingswood. We perform our concerts on a charitable donation basis only; all donations received go to our chosen charity of the year. Our 2019 charity is The Jessie May Trust which is a charity which provides care for local terminally ill children at their home. This charity is special to us as it is the first charity appeal we supported when St George Singers started 40 years ago. It has been one of our most successful years as we have managed to raise over £5000, including help from members participating in their own fundraising challenges.
We are always looking for new faces to join our choir and are welcome to just come along or contact someone first; you can experience what it is like to sing with us with no obligation to join, although we hope that you do. We are a friendly group and we do not require anyone to do an audition. We are also often looking for new venues to perform our concerts for charity donations. If you have somewhere in mind, please use the contact us page.
